Ramadan 2025 UAE

Ramadan 2025 UAE countdown has begun. With the beginning of Jamada–ul–Awwal, Ramadan arrival is expected on March 1, 2025. Jamada–ul–Awwal is going to start on November 3, 2024, as tentatively announced by the Emirates Astronomy Society. With the arrival of the 5th month of the Islamic calendar, Jamada –ul-Awwal, the backward countdown for the holy month has started. Only four months are left to perform prayers in Ramadan.

Finally, Ramadan dates in the UAE have been announced. However, the final dates rely on the sighting of the moon. Sometimes, Islamic months start 1 day earlier or later than the tentative dates. Some non-official Ramadan calendars 2025 also predicted the first Ramadan on February 27 or 28, 2025.

Ramadan Dates and its Spiritual Significance

With the Ramadan Start date, it is easy to get a tentative idea of Eid-ul-Fitr. As per the Emirates Society Announcement, Eid-ul-Fitr is expected on 30th March or 31st March 2025. Why do Muslims wait for Ramadan so anxiously? Ramadan, the Islamic month, holds great history and background. In this month, Muslims believe that initial holy Quran verses were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). Muslim families fast from dawn to sunset to get closer to Allah and get Mughfirat (forgiveness). You will find them performing individual and group prayers. The purpose is to gain self-control, avoid sins, and become compassionate to humanity.

Traditionally, the fast is broken with the dates or water. Special drinks, healthy foods, and traditional Ramadan dishes are served and enjoyed. Well-off families and communities host Ramadan “Aftaris” and “Suhurs”.

Another interesting prayer of Ramadan is “Taraweeh”. Most mosques host “Taraweeh” where Muslim men get together and perform this prayer. To sum up, Muslims are highly devoted to the Quran reading, prayers, and charity tasks.

Additionally, the last 10 days of Ramadan are well-celebrated with night prayers and frequent Quarn readings. Muslims believe the Quran was revealed on the 27th of Ramadan and was Laylat-ul-Qadr. Muslim Scholars believe that Muslims should pray all night to search for Laylat-ul-Qadr in the last third of the month. These are the days when the majority community is busy with Eid shopping during the day and praying at night.

The festivities of Ramadan get doubled as the Ramadan ends with the happiness of Eid-ul-Fitr. Children and adults exchange gifts and Eidis and enjoy family dinners.
